Is not easy maintaining gold hair especially for Asians like me, simply because it will look really messy if I don’t upkeep the colour.
When the black roots emerged, I look like a female version of the Durian seller “lai! D-24 mao shan wang, ho liao, 3 bao shi kuai! tree for den Lollar! Lai! Lai! Lai!”
So today, the Durian aunty is at her favourite neighbour salon (Modern Style) to get her hair fixed.
I could get use to this serious look anytime.
After a round of short discussion, I tell Tonny to do whatever he likes. I think I like to blardi waste people time coz I say so much but in the end, I still dunno what I want. Hai~ Women, what to do.
But I did vaguely mentioned to him that I fancy a round of ashy shades, so either he has a good memory or he carries a torch for me. But I like to think of the latter; not easy to still have market value especially when my breasts about to droop until my kneecap. (blame the breast pump damnit!)
First, he needed to bleach my hair.
I probably asked him this like every visit but I went ahead to ask again anyway “Huh Bleach? ey pain not huh?”
“Hmmm, like ants biting but dont worry I won’t touch your scalp la”
“Wah! got such thing? okok good!”
So bleaching process is done with minimal biting sensation but mostly without pain. Swee, only hair is damaged and not the brain.
Icing on the
cake hair, literally.
Foaming is when the effect is taking place.
Now the colour comes on.
At this stage I still have no freaking idea what my hair colour is going to be. I was just in a state of shock when I see Tonny mixing pinks and blues. So I asked with curiously “ey, what is this huh?” He then gave me a face as if hell is next door “Hiya, you’ll see later la”
I’m like ‘wtf is he doing, didn’t he know crazy colours nowadays will give me a cardiac arrest?’ But still I chose to keep calm, carry on dying (no pun) and hope for a better tomorrow.
Then, BOOMZ! Yes Ris Low BOOMZ.
I became the coolest badass unicorn ever.
ok, maybe a little constipated, but still cool.
This blotchy ash grey emerges; blotchy because there are streaks dirty bronze surfacing inbetween those ash.
And the ends are coated with a shades similar to rose gold, I can’t explain with my limited vocab but you’ll see a difference to the usual hair colours (of brown/blonde shade) that you normally see.
And can I say this is my favourite hair colour ever?!
Here’s the grey under bright natural lighting. *filter applies*
Is not too overly attention seeking (it still is, just not the crazy colours type of stares I used to get) yet still noticeable and subtly rebellious.
Like is an underrated statment, I LOVE IT.
However, in order to to get this shade, please be prepared to glue that ass on the salon chair for at least 4 hours.
And this was taken last Saturday (almost 3 weeks after the salon visit).
I have to say even though the grey is short lived, it has faded into this awesome rusty blonde colour (without the orange tone like I had in the past) which somewhat prolonged the ‘life’ of my hair colour.
I’m actually looking forward to more visit to see what Tonny has up his sleeves!
